Welcome to my website where I share my professional and personal interests.
I have witnessed the advancement of telecom industry from voice on copper lines, to dial-up Internet service, to first video-conference trials and to wireless service on GSM. I grew up in Turkey where my father worked for Turk Telekom, the government-owned telecommunications company. Being able to see this progress first hand fueled my passion to be in this industry.
When I came to United States, I saw private companies in a market economy laying down the infrastructure for the next generation of telecommunications, which opened my eyes to a different way to provide wireless communication service. After getting my MSc in Information Networking in Carnegie Mellon University, I started working for AT&T Mobility, designing their wireless network.
A few years ago, sitting at my desk, I realized that as a mobility carrier, AT&T had a huge opportunity to better serve their customers and use their resources efficiently. AT&T had the advantage of being in their customers’ pockets and purses all the time and getting to know so much about their behaviors and habits. This realization piqued my interest in the data science field. It was astonishing to think about how seemingly unimportant data about mobile phone usage could tell so many stories about the micro and macro level consumer behavior. To explore this field further, I completed the Data Science Specialization from Johns Hopkins University and Coursera.
Right now, I am working to on some data science projects with other data scientists, trying to learn from real life applications.

I find flow when solving for complex problems and dissecting issues. I like design challenges of indoor and outdoor Distributed Antenna Systems. I am also working on expanding my knowledge and experience on Data Science.
I have completed Data Science Specialization from Johns Hopkins University on Coursera. I have finished the following classes:
Data Scientist's Toolbox, R Programming, Getting and Cleaning Data, Exploratory Data Analysis, Reproducible Research, Statistical Inference, Regression Models, Practical Machine Learning, Developing Data Products and the Data Science Capstone Project.
I am interested in learning more about Data Science and using it for practical purposes.

Venue and Event RF Design
I am iBwave Design Level 2 certified. I have worked on various capacity increase designs such as Ohio Stadium, Nutter Center, CVG Airport and Miami University.
I have also worked on designing temporary capacity deployment projects for events like Rock on the Range rock festival, US Senior Open 2016 golf tournament, March Madness games in UD Arena and Memorial Golf Tournament.
I have managed one of AT&T's most valuable resource, its spectrum, in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. I worked with marketing, construction, engineering, optimization, and performance teams to determine needs; define solutions; and enable continued business, market, customer, and traffic growth with spectrum management activities.
I have planned and managed the successful shutdown of 200+ GSM sites in my market area without adversely affecting customers and emergency services. I have collaborated with marketing team to notify and provide alternative solutions to businesses and consumers. I coordinated efforts of engineering teams to shut down and reduce capacity on the GSM sites that increased capacity on new UMTS and LTE technology networks.
